A tutor working with a student at home in Switzerland

The six steps

How does Good Tutors Finder assign a tutor?

The six steps from submitting your booking form to your confirmed first session — and what Good Tutors Finder does at each stage.

Step one

Tell us what your child needs

Fill in the booking form at goodtutorsfinder.ch. The form takes around three minutes. You will be asked for the curriculum — for example IB, IGCSE, A-Level, or Gymi preparation — along with the subject, year group, preferred schedule, and whether you would like sessions at home or online. There is no obligation at this stage — you are not committing to a booking.

Step two

We review your requirements

Our team reviews your submission promptly. We assess the curriculum, exam board, subject complexity, year group, and your location or online preference. For IB requests we check HL or SL and whether the requirement is Maths AA, Maths AI, or another subject — and verify the exam board (IBO, Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA, or College Board for AP). For Gymi preparation requests, we note the canton and target school type (Langgymnasium or Kurzgymnasium).

Curriculum-specific review
Step three

Tutor assignment begins — typically within 48 to 72 hours

We select the right tutor from our employed team of curriculum specialists — someone with direct experience of your child's subject, exam board, and year group. Our tutors work for Good Tutors Finder. We never assign a generalist where a subject specialist is needed. Urgent requests are reviewed as a priority, though same-day assignment cannot be confirmed in advance.

Step four

You receive a tutor introduction by WhatsApp

Once a tutor has been selected, we send you a WhatsApp message introducing the tutor, summarising their qualifications and curriculum experience, and proposing a schedule. You can confirm, ask questions, or request different timing — all by WhatsApp. Once confirmed, we coordinate the arrangement. You can book here. Once submitted, we'll confirm everything by WhatsApp.

Confirmation by WhatsApp
Step five

Your first session — at home or online

Your tutor arrives at your home or joins you on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. At-home or online — same price, same standards. Most families find that 1.5-hour sessions work well, as this allows enough time to review concepts properly, work through examples, and practise exam technique. For pricing details, see our pricing page — CHF 79 to 99 per hour, plus 8.1% VAT. There is no long-term commitment: you can adjust frequency, pause, or stop at any time.

Step six

After the session — your refund right

If a session doesn't meet your expectations for tutor knowledge or professionalism, we will refund it in full. This applies to any session — not only the first. There are no asterisks and no conditions beyond those two grounds. If the tutor isn't the right fit for any other reason, we can arrange a reassignment quickly and without hassle. See our FAQ for full details on the refund and reassignment process.

English-speaking families whose children attend Swiss public schools receive tutors who understand the Swiss system and can explain concepts in English. Situation

A Year 12 student at ZIS Zurich was studying IB Physics HL and facing difficulty with mechanics and wave optics ahead of a practice assessment. The family needed curriculum-specific support aligned to the IBO syllabus, not a generalist science tutor.

How it worked

The family submitted the booking form on a Sunday evening, specifying IB Physics HL, Year 12, at-home sessions in Zurich. Good Tutors Finder reviewed the request and assigned a degree-qualified IB Physics specialist by Tuesday — a tutor with direct experience of the IBO HL paper structure and internal assessment requirements.

Progress

Over the six weeks before the mock examinations, the student made steady progress with structured weekly sessions. Families often see steady progress within a few weeks when sessions are well-matched to the curriculum and year group.

"What we appreciated most was how straightforward the whole process felt. We filled in the booking form on Sunday evening, and by Tuesday we already had a detailed introduction to a tutor who specialised in IB Physics. Everything was handled very professionally."

What families say

What do families say about finding a tutor through Good Tutors Finder?

"As busy parents, we didn't want to spend weeks comparing tutors ourselves. Good Tutors Finder made the process incredibly easy. They listened carefully to what our son needed, explained the options clearly, and assigned a tutor who was a perfect fit."
Daniel G. Geneva · International school family
"We initially worried tutoring would involve long contracts or a complicated setup, but the experience was very flexible and transparent from the beginning. The communication was excellent, and we liked that we could start with just one weekly session and adjust later if needed."
Laura M. Zug · Swiss-school family
"The assignment process was much faster than we expected. After submitting the booking form, we received updates by WhatsApp and had our first lesson organised within a few days. The whole experience felt calm, organised, and very reassuring for our family."
