Free cancellation until 17:00 the day before the session. We ask only for that notice so the tutor can plan accordingly. There is no long-term commitment — you can pause or stop at any point without penalty or notice period.

Cancellations made after 17:00 the day before may incur a session fee. We will confirm the exact terms when we set up the schedule with you.

Yes. If the tutor assigned is not the right fit for any reason, we can arrange a reassignment quickly and without hassle. You do not need to explain at length or make a formal complaint — simply let us know via WhatsApp and we will review the situation and propose an alternative tutor as soon as possible.

Most reassignment requests are resolved within a few days.

Visit goodtutorsfinder.ch/booking-form-tool/ and complete the booking form — it takes around five minutes. You will need to provide the curriculum, subject, year group, preferred timing, and whether you want at-home or online sessions.

Once submitted, we will confirm everything by WhatsApp within 48 to 72 hours. You can book on the form — we then assign the tutor. Families do not browse and select from a list of profiles.

Most assignments are completed within 48 to 72 hours of submitting the booking form. We confirm the tutor and the first session schedule by WhatsApp.

For urgent requests — for example, an exam in the next few days — please mention this in the booking form. We will review with priority and let you know what is feasible. We do not promise same-day assignment, but we will always try to find the fastest solution.

Three things are essential:

• What — the curriculum (e.g. IB, IGCSE, Gymi), subject, and year group.
• When and where — preferred timing, frequency, and whether you want online or at-home. A postcode is needed for at-home sessions.
• Who — parent name, phone or WhatsApp number, and email address.

If you are unsure about curriculum or subject details, provide what you know and we will clarify over WhatsApp before confirming the assignment.

All tutors are degree-qualified and assessed for curriculum-specific knowledge before being assigned to families. We evaluate three things: subject-area expertise, understanding of the relevant exam board and syllabus structure (for example, the IB command terms, Cambridge Assessment marking criteria, or the ZAP format), and professional communication standards.

We do not assign tutors to curricula or subjects they have not been assessed on. A tutor with a strong Maths background will not be assigned to IB Maths AA HL without the appropriate curriculum knowledge. Specialism matters as much as subject knowledge.

Most families find that 1.5-hour sessions work well. This allows enough time to diagnose knowledge gaps, teach the relevant concepts properly, work through guided practice, and apply exam technique — without pushing concentration beyond productive limits.

Shorter sessions are available for younger students or very targeted revision work, and longer sessions can be arranged during intensive exam-preparation periods. We will recommend a starting length based on your child's year group and curriculum, and adjust as the sessions progress.

Families often see steady progress within a few weeks. The clearest signs are not always immediate grade improvements — they tend to come first as confidence: your child approaching a difficult subject with less anxiety, completing homework more independently, or asking better questions in class.

We do not promise specific grade outcomes and we do not use percentage-improvement claims. What we can say is that consistent, well-structured sessions with a curriculum-specialist tutor reliably improve both understanding and exam approach. If you feel progress is not happening, let us know — we can review the approach or arrange a reassignment.

For international-school families: IB Diploma (HL and SL), MYP, IGCSE (Cambridge), A-Level (Edexcel, Cambridge International, AQA, OCR), and AP (College Board). We also support IB-specific elements including Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essay (EE), and Theory of Knowledge (TOK), as well as university admissions preparation — SAT, ACT, UCAS, Common App, and ETH/EPFL applications.

For Swiss-school families: Swiss Matura and Gymi preparation, including the ZAP entrance test, Langgymnasium, and Kurzgymnasium pathways. This service is designed for English-speaking families navigating German- or French-medium schooling.

All core academic subjects, including:

Within each subject, tutors are assigned to the specific curriculum and exam board — not just the subject area. An IB Maths AA HL student and a Swiss Matura Maths student have different needs, and we address them accordingly.

Yes. We work specifically with English-speaking families preparing for the Aufnahmeprüfung (ZAP — the Gymi entrance test), covering both Langgymnasium and Kurzgymnasium pathways in Zurich and across Switzerland.

Tutors understand the structure and requirements of the ZAP and can support students in German language, Maths, and school subjects — all delivered in English to support families navigating the Swiss public school system. This service is in high demand among expat families who have integrated into Swiss schooling and need targeted exam preparation.

At-home sessions are available across Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, Zug, and Bern. We have tutors with experience supporting students at international schools including ZIS, ICS Zurich, the Inter-Community School, the Geneva English School, Collège du Léman, La Châtaigneraie, ISL, ISB Basel, ISZL, ISBerne, and others.

Online tutoring is available across Switzerland and beyond — anywhere with a stable internet connection. If you are based in a smaller canton or your city is not listed, please enquire via the booking form or WhatsApp. Online sessions cover the same curricula and subjects as at-home.

At-home or online — same price, same standards. Sessions are conducted via Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, and all tutors are assessed to the same curriculum-specialist standard regardless of delivery mode.

Many families in Switzerland find online sessions more practical for managing schedules around after-school activities, travel, and irregular school hours. Younger students often benefit from at-home sessions for familiarity, while older students preparing for IB or A-Level exams frequently prefer the flexibility of online. We can switch between the two at any point — the pricing does not change.

Two payment structures are available:

We accept credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfer. If you need a different arrangement, contact us via WhatsApp before booking and we will review what is possible.

No. There is no minimum contract, no notice period for stopping, and no penalty for pausing. The Tutoring Plan bills monthly and can be cancelled at the end of any billing period. Pay As You Go has no ongoing obligation at all — you pay only for sessions completed.

Many families start with one subject to see how it goes. If it works well, they often extend to additional subjects or increase frequency before exams. There is no requirement to commit upfront, and no advantage to doing so beyond the admin-fee saving on the Tutoring Plan.
